The Camino de Santiago is finished and today we start the Camino Finisterre, which goes from Santiago west to the town of Finisterre on the coast and then north up to Muxia. This is a short Camino, only about 75 miles in length and we will do it in 5 days.
The forecast is not looking great....it looks like some heavy rains starting tomorrow, but we are hoping for mostly nighttime rains and cloudy days...we shall see.
Our hike today is wonderful, just like the Camino of past weeks before we reached Sarria. The number of walkers is nice and small and the terrain is gorgeous. The smaller number of pilgrims is like going back in the past to our early Camino days starting in France and in eastern Spain. Green hills, farms, and livestock galore. We walk mostly on dirt or gravel paths through eucalyptus forests and cross numerous streams.
Spring has come to western Spain. Flowers are everywhere as are the blooming trees. It is magnificent!
The skies are cloudy but we encounter no rain and the temperatures are ideal for hiking. Coffee places are sparse and we only stop once for cafe con leche.

We all arrive tired as the multiple hiking days are wearing us down slowly and relentlessly.
Tomorrow is a big day of about 21 miles. Blaze and I plan to do the entire mileage and Judy and Eileen have opted for a taxi for the first 6.2 miles. Blaze and I will skip the regular breakfast in exchange for an early start and a breakfast of packed fruit eaten while we walk. It looks like rain gear for sure for tomorrow and possibly the remainder of this Camino!
Your photos are just breathtaking! What gorgeous scenery.
